Last Invention

Synopsis

A man is alone in his apartment. Suddenly some peculiar things start to happen in the room. His T. V. turns itself on and off, the electric switch is running away and water stops flowing from the tap. It seems as though every object in the room is rebelling against the owner. When he gets exhausted trying to locate the disappearing objects, he decides he? had enough and declares a war. The idea behind Last Invention is refreshingly original. In this film, real-life shots were rendered in such a way that they appear like stop-motion animation. It is this unique technique that allows the magic-like sequences of the film. The fact that the live action appears fragmented and unnatural only adds a humorous touch to the film. Derniere Invention could be seen as a representation of the director? own private world of imagination; the world that is both altuistic and comical in nature. (KIM Eui-Chan)
