Synopsis
This educational animated film, originally made for children between the age of 4 and 8, consists of ten 5-minute episodes. In the episode called A Portrait of a Bird, a little girl named Michelle is having trouble painting a picture of a bird. The Yellow Giraffe helps her paint the portrait by reading a poem by PrŽvert to her. In Ah, From Somewhere, a lonely girl called Sayoko wants to invite friends to her birthday party but has a problem delivering the invitation. Again, the Yellow Giraffe comes to her rescue and the mail safely reaches the destination. This film shows the candid lives of children from all regions of the world. According to the creators, they wanted to convey the message that ?very child in the world deserves to live in the society where human values are respected.?Although The Sun Is A Yellow Girraffe was created with 2 D computer graphics, the colours and stereoscopic effects are comparable to those produced with advanced technology. In particular, the superb adaptation of the oriental landscapes in the film creates a visual splendour. (KIM Eui-Chan)
