Synopsis

Two detectives on a homicide case visits Henri and leave him with a number to contact. Henri doesn? think much of it at first but soon begins to wonder if his neighbours are related in some way with the case. When the curiosity becomes too much to bear, he starts spying on their affairs, and ventures into their home. Before making the exit however, he is encountered by a visitor to the house and his curiosity ends up bringing him a nightmare. Christian Alvart made his directorial debut with this techno party-like film. As the natural curiosity about other people? lives turns into the uncontrollable urge to spy, the nightmarish events of one? imagination become a terrible reality that finally ends in murder. The main attraction of this film is its frequent use of the grotesque black and white images. One example is the chase scene where Henri is pursued by the Maffia gang on the roof of a building at the end of the film. The model-like composition and distorted images in the scene are reminiscent of the German Expressionist films of the 20?. (LEE Jong-Eun)
