Synopsis

The main characters are an old couple, in their seventies. They have stayed together through thick and thin. They had sons; one immigrated, another killed himself, and one left home. But the couple never regretted having them. The husband was a two star army general who dedicated his life to his country. But his choice to not join a coup d'etat places his life in a precarious position. When their son's business goes bankrupt, their house is repossessed and they are on the brink of homelessness. Forced to separate and stay in different retirement shelters, the couple's only means of communication are through letters and a once-a-week meeting in a park. As the bitter cold of winter approaches and the wife's heart condition worsens, the couple's rendez-vous in the park becomes increasingly difficult. One wintry morning, the wife "re-decorates" her husband's chest with his medals signifying his days of glory. As she leans into his arms, her last breath leaves her and a flurry of snow unknowingly drifts over them... (ZEONG Chosin)
