Synopsis
The year is 2010 in Buenos Aires. Authorities have carried out secret experiments, in search of a secret weapon that might reduce opposition to the regime, which have resulted in the loss of memory for thousands of citizens... The Sleepwalkers is considered one of the best films of the year in Argentina and it is one of the rare incursions in science-fiction. Defined as a chilling fantasy reminding us of THX 1138 by George Lucas, this first full-length film by Fernando Spiner suggests the direction of a highly experimented film-maker, and creates true delight owing nothing to other visions of the future. What is most surprising in this film is not only the excellence of the actors and settings but a rich story in which much imagination and intelligence, put to the service of a disturbing vision of a future society.
