Synopsis

Hong Kong's criminal investigation squad gets a lead on a group that organizes illegal immigration, and begins investigating. Sam, a member of the squard, is assigned to the operation, and the squad succeeds in catching the boss of the organization, Knight. Knight's organization is very powerful in the Southeast Asia. Sam and his fiancee, Ann, who is a prosecutor, try to prove Knight's crime, but could only prove it partially. Knight, sentenced to three year in jail, orders his brother Day to take revenge on Sam and Ann. Sam and Ann travel to Paris, and the killer goes after them. This mysterious women 'killer' ironically falls in love with her target Sam. Torn between her job and love, she ends up killing only Ann as a compromise. Shocked by this incident, Sam resigns from the police, and lives in hiding managing a bar. After two years, he meets Yu, a Japanese tourist and falls in love. When Sam is madly in love, Knight is released and upon hearing the news of Sam, decides to 'take care of him.' Meanwhile Sam get a weird feeling about Yu. Andrew Lau was born in Hong Kong in 1960. He started his career in the movie industry with the Shaw Studio as an assistant cinematographer. With his dedication and hard work, he was promoted to Cinematographer in 1985. He is extremely skillful in handling hand-held cameras for shooting of live action scenes. Andrew began directing films in 1991. His first movies include < Against Ali >, < Rhythm of Destiny > and < Ultimate Vampire >. < The Storm Riders > and < A Man Called Hero > are his famous films in Korea.
