Synopsis
One day, Maki presents a piece called 'time' to a small gallery and gets into a car accident. After the accident, Maki always finds herself at the exact moment and place, just before the moment of the accident. Nothing has changed in the surroundings, except for the fact that she is all alone. Everyday, starting at two fifteen, her lonely day begins. One day, on a rainy hundred and seventy-third day, a phone bell rings from somewhere. Yohei, who had recently bought 'time' from the gallery, became interested and called to ask to see Maki's other pieces, and Maki desperately hangs on to the phone call. From then on every night at eight o clock, the phone connects the two-two people living in a completely different world. However, Yohei finds out that Maki is lying on a hospital bed, comatosed after the accident, and Maki's mother is nowhere to be found. However, as changes occur in Maki's world, Maki seems to move a little in her bed. Repetitious daily affairs. An empty road. A recurrence. To live as a twenty nine year old forever, regardless of the passage of time. The loneliness of being alone. Silence. Everything is depicted in a realistic manner, inviting the viewer to immerse into the film. A beautiful film by the director Hirayama, with his unique atmosphere of a ghosty tale. (YOON Yong-soon)
