Synopsis

The main character is 12-year-old Esko, who tends to resort to his vivid imagination to embroider the truth. After a gang fight between Finnish and Swedish boys ends in tragedy, Esko saves his skin by lying-with the result that he is shunned by his mates. He soon notices that lies have short tails and how difficult it is to genuinely accept oneself.
