Synopsis

Making-of documentary about Nekromantik 1 + 2 and The King of Death. If you ever wondered who the guys and gals are that were involved in the making of those pics, you will find out here. You will get to know their twisted sense of humour in a much more direct way than it is displayed in the movies but you will also see how hard it was to realize the movies. How, for example, that breathtaking, unsettling shot from the suicide bridge in Der Todesking was done, and how Rob was able to squirt cum and blood in Nekromantik. If you like Buttgereit’s films, don’t miss the background info provided by this doc. (Johannes SCHÖNHERR)

Jörg BUTTGEREIT

Jörg BUTTGEREIT was born in 1963 in Berlin. Since the age of 14, he directed short films using Super 8mm, and made a controversial debut in 1987 with Nekromantik, a film about a love between a corpse and human. He then went on to make such films as Nekromantik II (1991), and Schramm(1993), pleasing hardcore audiences all over the world with his regular theme of necrophilia and death. BUTTGEREIT is a DJ, and is the first person who wrote a book about Japanese monster films in Germany.
