Red Coloured Grey Truck

Srdjan KOLJEVIC

Yugoslavia2004 99min 35mm Color Asian Premiere

Synopsis

A man who sells arms and another who buts it. They are killed and someone gets the profit. The movie starts with black humor and the unusual stroy develops with flexible visual images. The film is a screwball comedy, the so-called golden section of art film. The theme of the story is the love between a color-blind man (The dialogue is different from the subject, "the color doestn't have and meaning to me". He consolidates his position with his sentence.) who steals a truck and a woman who is shocked by her pregnancy and tries to commit suicide on the road. The narrative of the story is added flesh by the brouble betwwn the man and the woman in contrast with the period's situation of avarice and violence du to civil war. The screne where the man and the woman dance together, while a farm is being plundered and burned on the ohter side is the peak of the film. Placing the scene on the confirmation of love placed side by side with that of a buring farm is an example of the dialectic story's development. The stroy does not flow as expected, but it is appropriately creative. The debut film of Srdjan Kolject red coloure grey truck was stronger than those of other veteran writers. The strong story, the gentel cinematography, the good acting of the actors, and the sound of an accordion will make your eyes and ears happy.
