Synopsis

This is the film version of the classic novel of Hwang soon woon. When the film was released, it was not popular. The film was first invited to the Venice film festival and the Berlin film festival. This increased the buzz about the film. When it was aired, it was supported by many televiewers. A country boy, Suk, meets Yen near a stream. Yen, who is the granddaughter of Yune, wants to befriend Suk, but he always escapes. They go to a picnic together while there is a shower. After that day, Yen, whose health is weak, becomes ill. Suk wants to give Yen some walnut, but he learns from her father that she has died. He starts sobbing.

GO Yeong-nam

One of the most prolific directors in Korea, he directed over 100 films in his lifetime. His directorial debut film is The Lost Sun (1964) and directed his best-known film The Land of Snow (1977), Subzero Point ’81 (1981).
