Shallow Ground

Sheldon WILSON

USA2004 97min 35mm Color Asian Premiere

Synopsis

The subject of Shallow Ground is similar to Shallow Grave by Danni Boyle. This is the second horror film of the director, Sheldon Wilson. Although the film is famous among fans and has been praised in several fantasy film festivals, it is quite unknown. It is an outstandingly ingenious movie in which the horror movie is reproduced with the same visuals and theme lost in the brilliant flood of commercial movies. It shows a horrifying beginning where a blood-covered naked boy with a knife runs across a place. When he stumbles into the station, the frightening story begins. The bizarre killing is similar to those in Friday the Thirteenth. When the covered blood is closed up, the film turns into a psychological thriller. It also shows a group that is cajoled by surrealism, borrowing a ghost's occult feature from Omen and Exorcist. The film adds the mysterious feature of ¡´Nightmare¡µ, and the tension of a few characters who chase and are chased is remarkable and you feel the dramatic power through the full account of the unfolding secret. Gore infested with blood, horrifying fear and insecurity of screams, a well-set story, sensible cinematography and visuals, and a great soundtrack are impressive.
