Synopsis

wasn’t released in theaters in Thailand because it was based on Thailand's sensitive situation. You can watch it in PiFan. In a rural district in Thailand, Aaw learns magic from her grandmother, who is a wizard. Aaw works for a go-go-bar in Bangkok in order to take care of her sickly grandmother. She changes her name to Dau. She chants a spell to become more beautiful and to earn more money. She uses the spell to make other people jealous. Dau breaks a rule of wizarding. If she breaks it, P will deprive her of her soul and body. The director is from England who learned Thai. It is the first Thai movie that is directed by a Westerner. Awa loses her real nature when she turns into Dau. A ghost disguises himself as a girl, which is not different from a girl dreaming of a ghost. It is up to the audience to tell whether this is a ghost movie or not. The film won awards from the audience and judges at the Weekend of Fear Festival in Erlangen, Germany.
