Synopsis

Age is from Kisiwata, and he is always playing a rhythm in his mind. This is either the beat of a string instrument or the beat of the heart. Age lives with his father, who was a maker of string instruments in the past but who recently acquired a gambling problem, and his deliberate mother, who is always looking after him. He joins a compulsory brass band in front of the students of the school and then meets two girls, Kanokun and Nanao. She asks him to play the drum and he does, feeling the beat of his heart. Age and his friend organize a band 'beat kids' with the help of Nanao. They successfully play in the school festival and are happy about this. Another band, which has a concert in mind, start to pay attention to him. The background of Beat Kids  is Osakan. However, the group of youth cannot just be limited to Osaka. Anyone who has those kinds of memories such as having enthusiasm for a club, preparing for a literature festival, opposing a teacher because of a difference of opinions, keeping a secret love, and talking to friends in the same place for a few hours. The story shows us the bright 'bloom of youth’. Both those who already went through youth and those in the middle of youth can sympathize with this movie. This movie brings you the memories of youth.
