Synopsis

The story starts in Barcelona in 1931. The plot of this film is enough to attract the attention of the audience to the flow of the story. When Alma comes back to her home, her husband, a psychiatrist, tells her not to report to the police that she saw him, and leaves home. Alma doesn't know the reason why and is confused. She goes to Vienna to see Dr. Freud, and learns about hysteria and sex. Alma enjoys her life being embarrassed. Where has he gone? A husband doesn't care about his pregnant wife. She thinks that he is having a love affair. She ask Slavador, who is her brother-in-law, to help her. Slavador has loved her for a long time. He thinks that it is a good chance to confess his love. Alma and Slavador try to solve the problem a la Sherlock Holmes. The decisive clue is the record of 4 patients. An actress is a persecution maniac, a psycho tried to kill her husband, a female patient is having trouble with her sexual identity. They trace him using the mysterious cues. The blues tragedies come to them. They take a long journey of love behind the tragedy. The film shows a beautiful love story with strong Latin music.

His films Sin Vergüenza(2001) and Los Abajo Firmantes(2003) won awards at film festivals. In 2004 Inconscientes also won many awards at film festivals including  HBO Award, Best Director Award in Puchon, Sundance, Toronto Film Festival.
