Synopsis

A melodrama classic that will stay in our mind. A British officer Roy meets young ballerina Myra of Swan Lake in London during World War II. They fall in love at first sight and promise for marriage, but the man has to leave for the front. Myra, who later learns from the newspaper of his death in action, she survives on the street of London. It turns out that he wasn't killed and now she wants to be with him, but her conscientiousness wouldn't let her do that for the time on the street. This was Vivien Leigh's following project after Gone with the Wind and in this, she made a unforgettable image as a woman of tragic fate.
