Synopsis

Other prostitutes in the brothel ostracize young-ae for her incessant obsession with money: she lost her beloved daughter to an illness because she couldn't afford the treatment. Gwangwon-Province Mom dies during delivery. Young-ae takes the newborn child into her care and consoles her pain and longing for her daughter. Raising a child in a brothel cause more hardship and pains that she could take, so she leaves the place. That is the beginning of Young-ae's unyielding struggle for her own survival and the child\'s education. In the midst of her lonely fight against the society, she learns that the child has to go back to the biological father under a children's act, and she loses the child. Turning back from the baby to the caretaker, Young-ae goes back to her past, the place of her struggle that defines to be labeled good or bad.

Lee Jang-ho

Born in 1945, Lee Chnag Ho worked vigorously in the Korean film industry as a director, actor, producer, planner and writer. His representative works include Heavenly Homecoming to Stars (1974), Children of Darkness (1981), Come Down to a Lower Place (1982), Declaration of Idiot (1983), Between the Knees (1984), Lee Jang-ho's Basebakk Team (1986), and A Wanderer Never Stops on the Road (1987)
