Synopsis

Cooking for her boyfriend everyday and utterly stressed by it, a girl frees herself from her chore thanks to a special orange. She finds beauty in a life that is free of pleasing others.

OKADA Mari

Mari Okada Mari Okada was born in Osaka, Japan. She started making personal experimental films in university, and her senior project, Dou-Mu was awarded for Experimental Film Award at Towson University. She pursued her filmmaking career at California Institute of the Arts, and graduated with Master of fine Arts in May 2004. Her Thesis film, The Correct Use of the Oranges, was screened in various venues including Roy and Edna Walt Disney/Cal Arts Theater, Director’s Guild of America, and Asia Society of NY. She is currently making a film about changing city and people in her hometown, Osaka.
