A scarecrow who works alone in the field feels acute loneliness. No one wants to be a friend with him. One day, a crow falls near a foot of the scarecrow….
Born in 1969 in Madrid, Spain. After being awarded two scholarships he studies film at New York University (Tisch School of the Arts.) In 1991 he graduates and shoots two shorts in 35mm, one of which wins the International Film Festival of Madrid (IMAGFIC 92.) For the next 10 years he work professionally in U.S.A. and in Spain in both the camera and direction departments. He works with directors such as Pedro Almodovar, José Luis Borau and Jaime de Armiñán. Since then he has directed two television pilots as well as the following shorts: El Número (The Number), Ley 4512/98 (Law 4512/98), El Último Secreto de Luís Candelas (Luís Candelas´Last Secret), De Buena Tinta (Ink). With these he has obtained more than 30 awards in Spain in festivals such as: Alcalá de Henares, Gijón, Soria, Burgos, Estepona, Valencia, and Barcelona. He has also been awarded in international festivals in Italy, England, France and U.S.A. where one of his shorts was selected by “The Film Society of Lincoln Center” to represent Spain. “The Legend of the Scarecrow” is his last short. He currently is preparing a feature based on the Spanish folkloric boogeyman known as the “Sacamantecas.”
