Synopsis

Putri, who believed that marrying a competent man by keeping herself attractive is the life of a successful woman, faces a crisis. Her boyfriend, Eddy, who she thought would be in love with her forever, now says that he likes a striker more than a cheerleader! As Putri starts to play futsal to win Eddy back from Shasha, a confident futsal player, she slowly realizes what is really important in life. The movie is a drama about young people who try to find their identities in the conservative Malaysian society.

BERNARD CHAULY was born in Taiping, Malaysia in 1973 of Punjabi-Chinese parentage. He graduated with an MA from Goldsmiths College, London specialising in directing and writing, pursued on a prestigious British High Commissioner’s Chevening Scholarship. His formative film education was at Universiti Sains Malaysia where he topped his class majoring in Film & TV, minoring in Anthropology-Sociology. He is a recipient of 6 Malaysian Video Awards including Best Short Film (ADAM & STEVE, Best Documentary (WAYANG KULIT: FEAST OF THE SHADOW SPIRITS) and Best Experimental Video (SAYING GOODBYE). These have been screened at festivals around Malaysia, London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore.
