Synopsis

Middle-aged neo-Nazi Adam is sentenced to community service at a small country church where he meets the church's priest, Ivan. The priest encourages Adam, who is rough and filled with hostility with no hope for reform, to establish a single, clear objective for himself. When Adam says he will bake an apple pie, Ivan gives him an assignment regarding the church's apple tree. It is an outstanding comedy by Anders Thomas Jensen, a Danish director who won an Academy Award for best short film with his 1999 work, Election Night. Adam's Apples has won awards in four categories including Best Film of the Year at the Brussels Int'l Festival of Fantastic Films (BIFFF in 2006).

Anders Thomas Jensen

Born in Denmark in 1982, Jensen studied screenplay and directing by himself. He wrote and directed a short  10 år på bagen - 3 år i skyggen back in 1990 while he was still attending a high school and he was nominated for an Academy award for this very fillm. After his feature debut with Blinkende Lygter (2000), he directed Flickering Lights(2000)and The Green Butchers (2003).
