Synopsis

A gruesome corps turns up in a fitness center. Homicide detectives Gyeong-yun and Eun-ju investigate the case focusing on the victim's wife as a prime suspect. Then, the man having an affair with the wife is killed. Digging up the relationship between the victims, Gyeong-yun finds out a scary truth: The two dead men served in the same army unit ten years ago and they raped their subordinate LEE Yun-seo, who tried suicide traumatized by the event. As it turns out, Yun-seo is Gyeong-yun's high school friend who is still missing. But even more terrifying truth is waiting for the detective as he continues his investigation to track down his old friend/serial killer. Though an ambitious thriller with energetic reversal from mid-way towards the end, Rainbow Eyes exposes the tenacious angst against homosexuality and "the desire in the other side of the fence" that are still prevalent in Korean cinema, as manifested in the outright discriminatory lines spat out by the detectives.
