Synopsis

What happens when a Bollywood movie brimming with the usual dancing and singing extravaganza meets a horror film? Bhoothnath is Bollywood's rare horror treat. A 7-year old boy Banku and his parents move in to a new town. Their new home is a large and splendid mansion, but rumors abound that the place is haunted. Banku's mother assures him that what people are talking about is actually an angel not a ghost. One day, Banku comes face to face with the ghost, Bhoothnath. Although Bhoothnath's intention was to scare his new housemates away, Banku mistakes Bhoothnath for an angel and is now crazy about him. From then on, the two become unlikely best friends. However, Bhoothnath is stuck in limbo and must part with Bantu soon.
A scary movie for everyone, Bhoothnath depicts family affection that runs through eastern way of thinking. Although the movie follows a very predictable formula, the friendship between innocent little boy Banku and a grandpa ghost Bhoothnath is genuinely touching. (LEE Hwa Jeong)
