Austria2008 91min 35mm Color Asian Premiere

Synopsis

Worldrevolution capitalizes on Stefan Weber, the lead vocalist of the Austrian rock band Drahdiwaberl and the band's legendary live performances as main materials to time-travel through the country's tumultuous modern history —the subject of the band's long-time satire, mockery, and criticism. Since their first concert in 1969 in the wake of the 1968 revolution, Drahdiwaberl has been standing tall at the epicenter of ongoing controversies involving the über conservative Austrian society, as they wield their dynamite stage persona to wage a head-on battle with the society's taboos. The film includes scenes that show ridiculed politicians, subjects that are considered untouchable, and even on-stage group sex that took place during one of their live performances.
