Love Songs

Synopsis

Christophe HONORÉ's new production Love Songs is (Surprise!) a musical about a love triangle between two women and a man. Structured in three chapters ("Beginning," "Absence," "Return or Reflection"), the film portrays lovers, unexpected deaths, diversity and enigma of love, and the bliss, tragedy and quiver of falling in, and out of, love, making and breaking relationships and crossing each other's paths. The line "Mystery is a part of life" conjures up our time-old musing on the mysteries of life and relationship. Perhaps less romantic, less innovative, than his predecessors, HONORÉ presents a loyal reproduction of the French musical tradition, filled with Parisian urban chic, refreshingly sophisticated performance, intellectual and sensuous script, and struggles between the real and the unreal, between the farcical and the serious.
