Synopsis
The film is somewhere in between teen romance and mystery with full of eccentric attractions. Based on a novel written by Kotaro ISAKA, the film is one of the shining Japanese movies in 2007. Starred by young actors such as Eita and Ryuhei MATSUDA, the film well captures the air of mystery from the original novel. It is highly evaluated from both the critics and the audience. Shiina, a freshman at a university, moves into a new apartment, where he is greeted by his new neighbor Kawasaki who is Bob Dylan fan and always waiting for somebody. As Kawasaki's secrets are uncovered, Shiina and the audience are invited back to a sad accident happened 2 years ago. The two main roles are excellently played by Eita and MATSUDA. Yoshihiro NAKAMURA's screenplay is considerate enough to deliver the emotions beyond a specific area or time to cover universality of relationship. Also equipped with all the attractions of Japanese movies loved by the Korean audience, this film presents the audience with lingering moments. (KWON Yong Min)
