Synopsis
Come to work dressed casually. Casual Friday sounds, well, simple enough. The movie, however, captures political agenda behind the seemingly innocent corporate policy. Plot follows a training program called Casual Day filled with discussion, recreation and dining. Trainees are encouraged to speak out, only they are being scrutinized by "power" without their knowledge. Implicit conflict, conspiracy, betrayal, and good will under testing pepper the program, leading to elucidating allegory of the survival game Casual Day. Dissecting the insidious power mechanism coated with interest and friendliness is the director's real intention: Power doesn't stop with monitor; it analyzes, evaluates and ultimately, controls by violating privacy, much like the way fascism works. The tightening grip of power on your throat is, well, nothing but a sheer terror. (OAK Mina)
