Synopsis
A Tale of Legendary Libido directed by SHIN Han Sol, is based on the ancient Korean folklore Byeon Gang- soe Tale. The story has already been made into movies several times, but SHIN emphasizes that his version is differentiated from others because his movie is focused on the growth story of Byeon, who becomes the symbol of ultimate masculine power. The story is about the transformation from weak and emasculate boy to a strong man. There are several growth engines behind the transformation; a beautiful woman, the missing of his brother and the ridicules and bullies by the people around him. Suffering from mockery, Byeon finally finds his hidden masculinity within and saves the women he loves. The unique Korean feeling of excitement is reinterpreted in the group dancing and choruses in this movie with the unique sense of SHIN. Unlike other tales of Byeon, the story only focuses on the male character rather than the female character named Ong-Nyeo The film shows the uniqueness of director SHIN following his first film The Art of Fighting.
