Synopsis

Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India's well-known director Ashutosh GOWARIKER presents his latest work Jodhaa Akbar, an extremely profound love story with unprecedented class and cachet. The 16-century Mughal emperor Akbar marries the Rajput princess Jodhaa for alliance. Their union, which brings cultural and religious clashes, is at once political advantage and personal ordeal for the greatest Mughal ruler. Ironically, his cruelest challenge is to win his queen's love. This Indian mega box office hit definitely treats audience to signature Bollywood attractions including spectacular battle scenes and sumptuous visuals. But the genuine merit of the film is the delicate, subtle detailing of the changing relationship between the two characters, which culminates in love and acceptance. The extraordinary running time (three hours) just flies by while you relish the breathtaking beauty and superb performance of Hrithik ROSHAN and Aishwarya RAI. FYI, Akbar means "great" in Arabic.
