Seven Days Sunday

Niels LAUPERT

Germany2007 79min 35mm Color Asian Premiere

Synopsis

In a small city of Germany, old asphalt buildings and empty land are the limiting play ground for Adam and Tommek, where some of their practical jokes are insignificant thefts and pissing on a church wall. Over a drunken party with a number of youngsters on a weekend, Adam and Tommek start taking lives of innocent people without apparent reason.
As the feature directing debut of Niels LAUPERT, low-budgeted Seven Days Sunday is based on a true story. The film stays negligent from any attempt to make the boys' behavior understandable or capture their mental status. Out of sheer boredom of common talks and daily routines, they are turned into psychopathic killers over a night. The camera keeps the distance from the characters and the event all the way speaking for the appalling reality of violence deriving from normality. (Jin PARK)
