Synopsis

The latest stylish horror production Death Bell opens the 2008 summer, a season regarded traditionally in the Korean film industry as the time of horror cinema frenzy. Accentuating Director CHANG's signature style and edge known from his former music video directorship, Death Bell has taken Korean horror genre up a notch. Its Saturday. An elite senior class is in session where top 20 students are charcoal-grilled to get ready for College Entrance Exam. Suddenly, the classroom TV's on, showing the image of the first-ranking student Hye-yeong floating inside a tank where water is filling up. A voice announces her life depends on mid-term questions he's going to give them. And now, the mid-term begins, holding 24 students and two teachers. To save their friend, to survive, they must find the answers. A bold departure from the mainstream genre format, Death Bell experiments with horror-thriller crossover, entertaining viewers with maximum doses of sensory and intellectual stimulation and speed.
