UK2017 90min Asian Premiere

Synopsis

Jim is determined to lose his virginity before his 30th birthday. With his buddy Alex as a wing man, Jim thinks he hit the jackpot when they meet sisters Lulu and Kitty at a local bar, not realizing that girls may be hiding a dark and deadly secret.

Program Note

A nice guy Jim is about to become 30 and is still a virgin. His meathead friend Alex is having none of that and they are out on a mission to lose Jim’s virginity. They encounter beautiful sisters Kitty and Lulu at the bar, who seem rather too eager to get to know them.  As the plot unravels, it becomes all clear that the sisters have a mission of their own, one that is not so pretty and may involve some sinister plots. A perfect mix of wit and gore, Double Date is a fantastically entertaining British comedy that will entertain and engross at once.  A first-time director Benjamin Barfoot takes the ingredients of sex-comedy and infuses the elements of slasher and occult to create a joyide for any horror fans.  Danny Morgan, who is also the film’s screenwriter, plays down on his luck with ladies character Jim brilliantly, while Kelly Wenham as a blood-thirsty Kitty offers a convincing intense and frightening presence.
