Program Note
Who said hip hop is appreciated exclusively by the youth? Who said dancing, singing and romance is possible only in fancy Hollywood musicals? A forgotten middle-aged actor decides to sell his soul to be cast in a hip hop movie ‘targeting old men.’ The heartless world makes fun of his passion and talent, but he shouts out to the world in his own way. If hip hop doesn’t work, he will try karaoke-style trot music. If he cannot star in La La Land, he will be in Lala Land instead. When put together, Kim Bosung’s passionate acting, which would make you laugh and feel bitter, and the “B-movie” humor of Director Lee Won-suk stand out in this short film. (MO Eun-young)
