Synopsis

Dr. Orin uses embryonic stem cell purchased on the black market to treat his paraplegic paraplegia. The treatment worked, but there are also side effects of a massive tumor. Surprisingly he finds that inside the tumor another life was growing all along.

Program Note

Orin carries out a dangerous experiment on his own body using stem cells he got from the black market to cure his paralyzed legs. After a desperate struggle, he gets to walk again, but unexpected side effects follow. When a big tumor-like stuff grows in his stomach, he has no choice but to attempt an operation by himself. A weird and terrifying ending awaits those who like the theme or styles seen in The Fly (1986) or Dead Ringers (1988) by David Cronenberg. (JEON Jong-hyuk)

Chris Todd is an emerging director known for work that is both visually stunning and emotionally engaging. His most recent work, Bon Appétit (2011), had much festival success. Also, he worked in the camera department for Terrence Malick’s Academy Award nominee Tree of Life (2011).
