Post Mortem Mary

Joshua LONG

Australia2017 10min Asian Premiere

Synopsis

Mary and her mother run a post-mortem photography business in 1840's Australia. They arrive to a small farmhouse to find devastated parents grieving over the death of their daughter. Mary is left alone to confront her phobia she must do all she can to make the dead look alive...

Program Note

Mary takes pictures of corpses with her mother. They visit a house in countryside where a little girl has recently died. While her mother comforts the grieving mother, Mary is left alone in the room with the body. As she suddenly feels as if the girl is still alive, she gets terrified in an instant. This film seems to have been largely influenced by Italian horror. It is full of props that any classic horror mania would love, such as beautiful and antique background and pretty girls.
