Synopsis

A middle-aged mother with an unfaithful husband and an adolescent daughter, breaks her humdrum routine and searches for a worn out ping-pong paddle she used ten years ago. She visits a table tennis court run by a friend and has a very strange experience in there.

Program Note

A-Mian, an abandoned housewife by her husband in love affair and the busy daughter. She is unexpectedly attacked while displaying ping pong skills of her youth again in the class operated by her friend to escape the tedious daily life. The direction with proper sense of humor through the vampire genre film, which describes the crisis faced by middle-aged women, is very compelling. A family film for a female role, which is faithful to the fun of the genre and reflects on the position and the role of the woman in the modern family. (JUNG You-me)

Diretor

CHUANG Shiang-An

Born in Taiwan. He is studying film directing in the Taipei National University of Arts. Mama Pingpong Social Club is his second short film after Into the Mountain (2015). Currently, he is preparing his new feature film about a vampire in Taiwan.
