Synopsis

In a flourish black market of postwar Japan, Shozo Hirono and his buddies get into in factious and ambitious Yakuza fight, like a new war. Shozo begins into a feud with his sworn brother’s family, Dois, because he formed their own family under boss Yamamori. Now, chivalry martyred, hypocrisy, betrayal and assassinations begins in a flood of blood.

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1930, Fukasaku is the director of legendary yakuza series, Battles without Honor and Humanity. This film placed Fukasaku in the pantheon of Japanese masters. His 60th film Battle Royale is well-known as key influence by Quentin Tarantino and John Woo. He passed aways in 2003.
