Must Love Death

Synopsis

To escape from his ruined life, Norman decides to commit suicide. However, it gets no easier for him to end his life. His attempt is only ridiculed by his ex telling him that he can never finish anything that he started. His final solution is to gather up with other people who also struggle with the same problem. Norman and the other three meet up in a isolated house in the wood and try to kill themselves, but their effort leads them to chain of failures. What they can try for successful end is to practice: only this time, practice with other victims.
Must Love Death is inspired by an actual case. Although the film deals with dark issues like suicide and murders, it never loses its comedy, vibrancy and even sweetness. Plot is not simple and every situation in the story never goes stale. Gory visuals are quite eye catching, but they also smile us laugh even with bloody body spatting images. Well developed characters are full of charms. Must Love Death is a very promising feature debut of Andreas Schapp, a 29 year old German talent. (Jin PARK)
