Synopsis

Krabat, an orphan boy, becomes apprentice for a sorcerer of black magic. Adapted from the famous German novel from 1971, Karel Zeman, the ‘master of Czech animation,’ unfolds the original fantasy in his amazing world of animation.

Karel ZEMAN

Born in 1910, he was a Czech film director and animator. Because of his creative use of special effects and animation in his films, he has often been called the ‘Czech Méliès’. His major works include The Deadly Invention(1958), The Jester’s Tale (1964), Morsky Sultan (1974) and Das Marchen Von Hans Und Marie (1980).
