The world renowned physicist Dr. Kaff (or Dr. Cops) creates "Red Empire" and wages a war against the whole world on the account of his hatred resulting from a complex. In fact, he was ridiculed by the people because of his ugly face, despite his good brains. However, every time all of his plans are frustrated by Robot Taekwon V. Revitalizing the frozen Korean animation world and establishing a new standard for the well-made animated film, drew 180,000 viewers in Seoul and about 2 million viewers nationwide in 1976, heralding the second heyday of the Korean feature-length animated film. It is true that the story of this film is based on simple anticommunistic ideas composed of "Red Empire" and its antagonist Taekwon V. However, along with the multi-layered depictions of the villain, the development of the story is quite complicated and the film offers many things to talk about. In particular, the film is fascinating in that it reveals the mentality of social losers with the character of Dr. Kaff, the scientist - turned - villain, who kidnapped defeated world-class athletes and transformed them as the devoted followers of his empire. Besides, the story of the robot "Mary" is very touching as she wants to become a human after feeling affection toward the people. Robot Taekwon V, the version restored by the digital technology in 30 years after its first creation, will provide a good opportunity to experience the impression of the original version produced by the best staff of the day. The audience will appreciate the characters made by LIM Jung Kyu who was responsible for the original painting and the rotoscoping technique as well as the music by CHOI Chang Kwon who made a creative sound using traditional Korean musical instruments and the sound effect by KIM Bul Rai.
