Breaking thoe long standing slump 1970s and 90s, young Korean film directors started to make fascination and creative movies from the mid and late 1990s. By combining their intellectual self-consciousness of genre film and popular culture with the memories of the modern and contemporary Korean history which they experienced directly of indirectly, those young directors have continuously created a variety of diverse and unique moives. Such a creative energy fascinated ardent cine-philes, and, as a result, Korean has become one of the most dynamic and enthusiastic film markets and a center of film culture in Asia in the 2000s. This movie explores the origin of the creative energy penetrating the undercurrent of the "handsome devils" of Korean movies by having interviews with those young Korean directors who have made a series of controversial movies since the mid and late 1990s including PARK Chan Uk, BONG Joon Ho, KIM Jee Woon, JANG Jun Hwan, LEE Chang Dong, KIM GI Duk, LIM Sang Soo, RYU Seung Wan, and MIN Gyu Dong. Along with the interviews, the movie offers the elaborate explanation of Tony Rayns who has made a great contribution to the study and promotion of the Korean movies for a long time.
