Program Note

Kurono, who is looking for a job, gets in an accident as he is reunited with his childhood friend Kato and ends up losing his life. At that moment, the two are transported to a room with a mysterious black sphere called “Gantz.” They are told by Gantz to fight against unknown enemies. They fight for their lives without knowing the reason. They can only free themselves from the hellish surroundings by receiving 100 points from Gantz.

SATO Shinsuke

Born in 1970 in Hiroshima, he studied Arts in Musashino university. During his schooldays, he won the Grand Prix at Fear Film Festival with his 16mm short film Ryonai Kenchuku. After his debut feature Love Song, he directed Princess Blade which made him come to the fore as an action genre director. He has directed numerous films such as Cosmicrescue, Sandglass and 3D animation Hottarake.
