Program Note

In the year 2284, bestselling author Alexis is confronted by look-alike beings who intend to take over his identity and use it to publish their own book. Known simply as The Book, it is their means of saving humanity. The aliens’ book, a potent instrument of alchemy, automatically neutralizes all negative emotions in whoever reads it. No more greed. No more anger. No more fear. No more war. Harmony on the planet. A formula for Utopia? Consistently pursuing B-Movies style from the 60’s and the 70’s, THE BOOK gives you a pleasure to watch SF conventions and references that the film has. Its worn, analog visual effects work great throughout the whole running time making the film unforgettable.

Director

¨ª

Born in France. He was a graphic artist, a music composer, performer and music producer in Europe, Africa and USA before becoming a filmmaker. The Book is his first feature film. He preciously made a music video called Chemical Syndrome that gathered praises in the press wherever it shows in North America, Europe, Scandinavia and Asia. Self taught and irreverent of academics, he is regarded by his collaborators as a secretive eccentric who enjoys giving intellectualism a poke in the eye.
