Program Note
Paul is a rich stock analyst with a constant nightmare about a frightening yet seductive mermaid. While vacationing with friends on his yacht in Spain, a sudden storm causes the shipwreck and strands them to a fishing village occupied by half-human offsprings of a monstrous sea god. Another superior adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft stories by the renowned director Stuart Gordon, Dagon is the representative film from his collaborator Brian Yuzna’s Fantastic Factory in Spain. Exceptional visuals, special effects and gripping action sequences all help to create a creeping creature feature. (Jongsuk Thomas NAM)
