Program Note

Bristle is a little girl raised by dragons. When her father Dragon has to pay the Sorcerog his second most valuable asset, he offers her Bristle. When Bristle finds out, in despair she flees from the family cave to explore the world of humans. Bristle makes a new friend of the same age, and the world keeps surprising her, but after a while, she has a crisis. The combination of a fantasy world full of magic and the narrative of a growing girl takes root in the textbook formula for successful animation. Dragon Princess follows Bristle’s adventures in a heartwarming graphic style, which movingly reminds the viewer of the diverse virtues of the growth narrative, including love, courage, friendship, and forgiveness. This animation was produced by Ankama, which is well-known as a game production company, with successful games including Dofus and Wakfu. (Jin PARK)
