Program Note

After her comedy Lucky Chan-sil (2020), a touching growth film showing the sweet and bitter sides of life, director Kim Chohee presents Back to the Hong Kong, a magical reunion of two people in Mokpo in 2022, who long for the Hong Kong of 1986. Starring Ko Kyung-pyo, Lim Sun-woo, Kang Mal-geum, and Bae Yu-ram, this film shows Kim’s wit and humor through the mood of Comrades: Almost a Love Story (1996). (JIN Myunghyun)

Director

KIM Chohee

Born in 1975, Busan. She studied french literature in Univ. and completed an master’s degree in film theory at University Paris-1. She has worked as a producer of about 10 independent films from 2008 to 2015. Her short films have been invited to numerous film festivals.
