Program Note
Kim Gok and Kim Sun explored social issues with their unique mise-en-scène in Horror Stories (2012), Exhausted (2018), and On the Line (2021). The Mine is about a boy who carries his father’s powdered bone and steps on a landmine while crossing the border with his mother. It is worth noting the technical elements, production design, makeup, SFX, and CG. Jin Seo-yeon also pulls off an impressive performance. (JIN Myunghyun)
