Born in 1963, Hong Kong, the actor, screenwriter, and director Yip made a breakthrough receiving bestscreenplay award at the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards for Bullet Over Summer (1999). His films include renowned SPL: Sha Pong Lang (2005) and his Ip Man trilogy, all received critical acclaims.
