His amazing debut feature Toto the Hero (1991) put Jaco Van Domael in the position of the director to watch in an instance, winning Camera d’Or and Award of the Youth in Cannes and Best Foreign Film award at Cesar. His other films such as The Eighth Day (1996) won the Best Actor award in Cannes and The Brand New Testament (2015) won Best Film Award at Sitges Film Festival.
