Program Note

Gold and Silver, two mermaid sisters step into the human world. They end up in a night club. When the owners discover that the sisters' beautiful legs turn into a fish tale, for each of the sisters, it is time for a choice, but a cruel and bloody one.

Director

Agnieszka SMOCZYNSKA

Born in 1978, Agnieszka Smoczynska studied Film Directing at the Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School in Katowice. The Lure is her first feature film and received a Special Jury Prize for World Cinema-Dramatic at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. She is definitely one of the most sought after woman filmmakers in Poland.
